Leeds back streets in 1970s caught on camera / BBC Feature
Peter Mitchell featured on BBC after the publication of the book ‘Strangely Familiar’.
” Photographs of the back streets of Leeds in the 1970s are to be published by a former lorry driver who took out his camera while making deliveries around the city. Peter Mitchell started taking photographs of Leeds in 1972 and has continued to tour the city with his camera ever since. Mr Mitchell said his job at the time meant he could develop an intimate knowledge of the city’s more hidden corners.”
